Upstate local crews on the public record

Oct 14, 2026

Public sources describe Upstate street gangs as largely neighborhood-based groups, such as the Highland and Park Hills gangs in Spartanburg and the Southside, Eastside, Osborne and Westside gangs in Greenwood, operating alongside sets of national gangs. Greenville County Sheriff's Office data reported 72 gang-related offenses from January through September 2026, down 11 from the same period in 2025. [1][2][3][4]

Where it stands

Greenville County Sheriff's Office statistics obtained by WYFF show 72 gang-related offenses from January through September 2026, 11 fewer than the same period in 2025. Drug, weapons law and aggravated assault offenses were the most common. Public records confirmed that a March 2026 assault of a 13-year-old at Unity Park and a June 2026 shooting at Haywood Mall were gang-related cases. [4]

On September 21, 2026, shots fired into a home on 4th Street in Woodside wounded a woman instead of the intended gang member. Deputies charged three teens, ages 15, 16 and 17, believed to belong to a rival street gang; 17-year-old Davie Esteban De La Cruz Pol was charged as an adult. The gangs were not named. [10][4]

In Spartanburg County, A.B. Martinez, 22, was charged with murder after a shooting on Thorn Ridge Drive in Boiling Springs that deputies described on September 23, 2024, as gang-related. On October 30, 2025, Clemson police reported the arrest of Damion Austin Davis, 26, and Gage Elijah Jack Stewart, 20, both of Salem, as suspected gang members in a burglary in which guns were stolen. The Spartanburg County Sheriff's Office Gang Unit investigates drive-by shootings and organized gang operations countywide. [11][12][13]
